"White Bathing Suit" Cyanotype Print
This is a cyanotype print of my painting, "White Bathing Suit" (2021) and it measures 9" x 12". All cyanotypes are printed on archival Arches aquarelle hot press paper and come packaged in a crystal clear bag with cardboard backing. These are open edition prints, meaning they are not limited edition, as I print them as needed. They are numbered, titled, signed with date of print creation.
*For an additional $10.00 I can frame it for you with a simple format frame (pictured); you must indicate upon ordering if you would like it framed in your order message and remember to include the additional $10 fee. Please let me know if you have any questions!
Cyanotype is one of the oldest photographic printing processes, discovered in 1842 by the English astronomer Sir John Hershel. The process involves coating paper with a photosensitive emulsion made by reacting potassium ferricyanide and ferric ammonium citrate, and then exposing the image to ultraviolet light. The water soluble iron salts are washed away and what remains is Prussian blue. Each image is printed in my basement laboratory. No two images are exactly the same, but are close approximations in tonal qualities.
